# Manage Stock Across Multiple Locations

> Create stores and warehouses for each physical location, plan stock transfers, and use location data to make smarter replenishment decisions.

Stores in MyStockPulse separate inventory across physical locations so you always know what is where. A store can be a retail shop, warehouse, stock room, or fulfillment center. Create a location for every place that holds stock independently, then use transfers and location reports to keep supply aligned with demand.

## Model Locations Clearly

Create a location when your business needs an independent stock count and movement history for a physical space. Use recognizable names without ambiguous abbreviations so your team selects the right store in orders, transfers, and reports.

Examples of clear location names:

* Main Warehouse
* Downtown Store
* Online-Order Stock Room
* Regional Fulfillment Center

Avoid names like "WH1" or "Store A" that require institutional knowledge to interpret.

## Plan a Transfer

Before moving stock between locations, confirm the details so the transfer is accurate and traceable.

**1. Confirm source availability**

Check that the source store has enough usable quantity to cover the transfer without creating a local shortage.

**2. Confirm destination need**

Verify that the destination store actually needs the stock and has space to receive it.

**3. Record products and quantities**

Add the exact products and quantities being moved to the transfer record.

**4. Identify responsible people**

Name the people responsible for dispatch at the source and receipt at the destination.

**5. Keep open until verified**

Leave the transfer open until the destination store counts and verifies what arrived.

## Receive and Reconcile

The destination store should count what actually arrived rather than accepting the dispatched quantity automatically. Record any damaged or missing units in the transfer receipt. Investigate differences while the movement is still recent and people remember the details.

## Use Location Data for Decisions

Multi-location visibility helps you make better replenishment and routing decisions. Use your store-level data to decide when to:

* Replenish from a supplier instead of moving stock between stores
* Move stock from a slower location to one with stronger demand
* Route an online order to another warehouse that has the item in stock
* Reduce stock at an underperforming store to free up capital
* Increase safety stock where demand is growing
