# Manage Purchases and Vendor Orders

> Create supplier purchase orders, mark shipments in transit, receive stock, and maintain vendor records in MyStockPulse.

The Purchases module in MyStockPulse covers the full supplier workflow: creating orders, tracking shipments, receiving stock, and keeping vendor records organized. Use it to make sure inventory arrives on time, in the right quantities, and is properly recorded.

## Purchasing Workflow

Follow these steps to move a purchase from creation to receipt.

**1. Create a purchase**

Go to **Purchases > New Purchase**. Add the vendor, then select the products, quantities, and unit prices. Review the grand total and confirm. The purchase starts with a status of **Created**.

**2. Mark in transit**

When the supplier ships the order, open the purchase and change the status to **Transit**. Only purchases with a **Created** status can be marked in transit.

**3. Receive stock**

When the shipment arrives, open **Receive Stock**, select the purchase, and compare the delivered items to the order. Confirm the actual quantities received and record any damaged or missing units before completing the receipt.

**4. Review in All Purchases**

Go to **All Purchases** to see every order and its current status. Statuses are **Created**, **Transit**, or **Received**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Once a purchase is marked in transit, the destination store is locked and cannot be changed. Make sure the correct store is selected before you update the status.

## Vendors and Expenses

Maintain vendor records in the Vendors section so you can quickly add them to new purchases and track your supplier relationships over time.

Use **Expenses** for operating costs such as rent, utilities, or services. These appear in reporting but are not treated as inventory purchases and do not affect stock quantities.
