# Record Sales While Offline

> Understand how MyStockPulse queues transactions during connection loss and how to synchronize them safely when connectivity returns.

MyStockPulse can temporarily store sales on your device when internet access is lost. This page explains what happens while offline, how to synchronize queued transactions, and how completed sales affect stock and reporting.

## What Happens While Offline

When the connection drops, the POS continues to function with these behaviors:

* The POS displays an offline warning
* Submitted sales are saved locally on the device
* Transactions are queued for synchronization
* The dashboard may show a pending synchronization count

## Synchronize Queued Sales

When the connection returns, follow these steps to safely synchronize your queued transactions:

**1. Keep the session open**

Keep the user signed in when the connection returns. Do not close the browser or sign out.

**2. Allow synchronization**

Allow MyStockPulse to synchronize pending sales automatically.

**3. Wait for completion**

Wait for the pending count to reach zero.

**4. Confirm in Sales History**

Open **Sales History** and confirm each transaction is present.

**5. Review errors**

Review any synchronization error before taking further action.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Do not enter the transaction again merely because it is not immediately visible while offline. Re-entry can create a duplicate when synchronization finishes.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Offline transactions depend on the browser and device. Do not clear browser storage while sales are waiting to synchronize.

## How a Completed Sale Affects Stock

Each sale deducts stock using this formula:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
quantity sold x pieces in the selected unit
```

The sale stores a cost snapshot used by Product Performance:

```text theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"}}
profit = revenue - cost of goods sold
profit margin = profit / revenue x 100
```

A completed sale creates its accounting journal entry. A void creates the corresponding reversal. Sales also contribute to revenue, sales trends, product performance, gross profit, stock movements, and turnover reports.
