# Sales and Point of Sale Overview

> Understand the MyStockPulse Sales module: what you can do, what you need before the first sale, and how to navigate the workspace.

The MyStockPulse Sales module is where owners, managers, and cashiers record in-store transactions, manage customers, and track revenue. This page explains what the module covers, what to set up before your first sale, and how to navigate the workspace.

## What You Can Do

The Sales module gives you everything you need to run a checkout and track revenue:

* Record in-store sales at the point of sale
* Sell products by piece, packet, box, or carton
* Use regular, promotional, or minimum-tier prices
* Attach a named customer or use a walk-in sale
* Take payment with a configured method and calculate change or balance
* Deduct stock automatically and capture cost information
* Print or download receipts for customers
* Review and void sales with a clear audit trail
* Queue sales temporarily while offline
* Feed revenue, inventory, accounting, and performance reports

> [!WARNING]
>
> A completed sale changes inventory, accounting records, and business reports. Confirm the business, store, product, unit, quantity, price, and payment before you complete the transaction.

## Sales Workspace

Open **Sales** from the main sidebar. The workspace contains:

* **Sales Overview** for revenue and recent-sales information
* **New Sale** for POS checkout
* **Sales History** for completed and voided transactions
* **Customers** for customer records
* **Online Orders** for enabled online stores
* **Coupons** for promotional codes and discounts

## Before the First Sale

You must be signed in with an active business selected. Confirm that the business has:

* A business currency configured
* At least one store created
* At least one active payment method
* Product categories added
* Active products assigned to the correct store
* Accurate selling and cost prices entered
* Opening or received stock for inventory-tracked products
* Unit configurations for packets, boxes, or cartons
* An active subscription that permits changes

Supported business currencies currently include **USD**, **XAF**, **NGN**, and **KES**.

## Access

Owners, administrators, and managers normally perform setup, review reports, manage payment methods, and handle exceptional actions such as voiding. Salespeople or cashiers record sales and issue receipts.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If the business is in billing-required read-only mode, existing information remains visible but new transactions are blocked until the subscription is renewed.
