Products are the foundation of inventory, sales, purchases, reports, and forecasting. If products are named clearly and organized correctly, your team can sell faster and your reports will be easier to trust. Before importing products, prepare stores, categories, SKUs, prices, and stock quantities.

Before You Import

Make sure your business has at least one store and the categories you plan to use. Category names in your import file should match the categories in the selected store. Prepare a clean spreadsheet with one product per row. Avoid merged cells, hidden headers, blank product names, or symbols mixed into number fields. Recommended columns include SKU, barcode, product name, category, quantity, cost price, and selling price.

Upload and Map the CSV

Open the product import screen, select the store, and upload your CSV file. MyStockPulse will read the headers and show a small sample of the detected data. If every field only shows Do Not Import, re-upload the file, confirm it is a valid CSV, and check that the first row contains headers. Column mapping screen for a product import in MyStockPulse

Preview and Commit

Always preview before committing. Common preview errors include missing product names, missing categories, invalid quantities, invalid prices, duplicated SKUs, or required fields that were not mapped. Depending on your setup, import modes may include create mode, update mode, or create and update mode. Use update carefully, especially when changing prices or stock quantities.

Import History

Import history helps you audit previous uploads. It should show when the import happened, who performed it, which store was affected, how many rows were processed, and whether any rows failed.
Start with a small test import before uploading hundreds or thousands of rows. Use consistent category names, keep SKUs unique, review prices carefully, and save a copy of the original CSV.
